Demetra Collia is a mathematical statistician in the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, Office of Statistical Quality, and the project manager for the Safety Data Initiative.  Demetra joined BTS about a year ago after a 17-year career with the Department of Labor where she developed several health risk assessments for OSHA’s occupational health standards and worked on variance estimation methodology for the Producer Price Index.  She received a BS in chemistry and mathematics from Hope College, and a MHS in biostatistics and epidemiology from Johns Hopkins University, School of Hygiene and Public Health.
