Alan Smith is an epidemiologist with the County of San Diego EMS, and a Ph.D. candidate in epidemiology at the UCSD/SDSU joint doctoral program. His research focuses primarily on injury prevention topics such as traffic safety, suicide prevention, and bioterrorism. Previous experience includes research in the areas of tuberculosis, immunizations, and neurodegenerative diseases
