Two critical elements of traffic crash records are the location of the crash and information about the roadway environment.  With the common situation of many local law enforcement agencies creating crash reports and separate agencies developing roadway inventories and doing crash analyses, data exchange is a vital aspect of a successful highway safety program.  This presentation will demonstrate how application of the new NSDI Framework Transportation Standard can save significant time by making data exchanges easier to accomplish.
