Director, Office of Data Analysis and Information Systems,
FMCSA Ms. Shelton is the Director of the Office of Data Analysis and Information Systems in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. She is responsible for developing and implementing agency information systems and analysis programs that enable FMCSA to meet its safety and security goals. Her office is responsible for the first-ever nationwide study of the causes of large truck crashes, being conducted as a cooperative effort with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Ms. Shelton has worked as a mathematical statistician and data analyst in the traffic safety arena for over 16 years at the U.S. Department of Transportation. Prior to coming to DOT she worked as a mathematical statistician at the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Ms. Shelton received her Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from the University of Delaware and studied mathematical statistics at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She is a member of the American Statistical Association, the Washington Statistical Society and the Caucus for Women in Statistics. |
