The Potential Impacts of a Towaway Reporting Threshold on Driver/User and Roadway Safety Programs

State and local police agencies are continually looking for ways to meet job requirements under constrained budgets.  Many have changed or are looking at changing the crash-investigation threshold to towaway and injury crashes, eliminating the investigation and reporting of non-towaway, property-damage-only (PDO) crashes now being investigated.  This presentation will focus on the potential benefits and disbenefits that must be considered in making such as change.
