Mitchell Nixon has been a member of the Gainesville Florida Police Department for 21 years.  During that time, he served in several assignments from regular patrol to K-9 to Street Crimes Unit.  From 1997 to 2001, he supervised the Department’s Traffic Unit and Traffic Homicide Investigators.  He is currently assigned to the Management Analysis Bureau and works on special projects involving crime data and department automation issues.
