Lt. Colonel Billy Dickson is a long time veteran of the Florida Highway Patrol (38+ years of service).  In the aftermath of September 11, Lt. Colonel Dickson was assigned as Director of the Office of Law Enforcement Liaison and Driver License Fraud and Identity Theft Investigative Services, Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV).

In this capacity, Lt. Colonel Dickson assists the Office of the Executive Director in security, intelligence and liaison, and provides technical assistance to the Division of Driver Licenses in the areas of public employee integrity, driver license office physical security, driver license issuance process security, identity theft prevention, and provides liaison to federal, state, local law enforcement, Office of Statewide Prosecution and other federal and state prosecutors.  He also represents the Department on several committees and work groups in domestic security issues.

Lt. Colonel Dickson is a graduate of the Florida Highway Patrol Academy, Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University, School of Criminology.  He is married to Harriet Rothauser (Dickson), has two children, Beth and David and is a proud grandfather of six grandchildren.
